Overview:
New Ventures is looking for a part-time or full-time intern to support the team in communications, impact measurement, fundraising, and research. New Ventures collects data from New Ventures companies to demonstrate the triple-bottom-line benefits of environmental small and growing businesses to investors, foundations, entrepreneurs, and the general public. We communicate the positive impacts of New Ventures companies through company profiles and write web stories to showcase innovative and inspiring cases of environmental entrepreneurship. The intern will be asked to help manage this data, generate reports for investors and other stakeholders, and assist in communications by creating web profiles for companies. The intern will also research funders and other topics related to environmental entrepreneurship. If interested, the intern may also have the opportunity to write web stories for the New Ventures website.

Responsibilities:
The intern will have the opportunity to work with all members of the New Ventures team on a variety of tasks. We are seeking an intern to support the New Ventures team as needs emerge and specifically in the following ways:
Use New Ventures information/data, web research, and email/skype interviews to create web profiles for New Ventures companies. Sample web profile: http://www.new-ventures.org/company/yoreciclo
Help input company data (environmental, social, and financial) into our database (PULSE, runs off salesforce.com platform) and help clean and maintain database.
Generate PULSE reports for investors and other stakeholders.
Post content on the New Ventures website.

Assist Business Development Officer in fundraising efforts by researching potential funders.
Assist research officer as needed.

Qualifications:
An undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in environmental studies/science, business, international relations, or a related field.
Basic understanding of environmental issues and business concepts.
Interest in environmental issues, social/environmental entrepreneurship, impact investing, and/or sustainable development highly desirable.
Excellent research, writing, quantitative, and organizational skills. Attention to detail desired.
Spanish, Portuguese, Bahasa Indonesia and/or Mandarin language skills desired.
Familiarity with one of the six New Ventures countries a plus. Familiarity or experience in any of the following sectors a plus: biodiversity conservation, energy efficiency technology, cleantech, natural resource conservation, pollution prevention & waste management, organic agriculture, sustainable land use, and water resource management.
Ability to work well in a team, manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and deliver under tight deadlines.
