Position: Head of UN and Intergovernmental Affairs; Deputy Director, Governance, UN and Multilateral Affairs

Advise and coordinate UNICEF’s involvement in intergovernmental fora such as the General Assembly and its main committees, Economic and Social Council, Security Council, and Human Rights Council, among others.
Ensure that UNICEF’s priorities and concerns are being promoted through strategic engagement in inter-agency discussions at NYHQ level.
Support UNICEF senior staff participation in the work of CEB and its main committees (UNDG, HLCP and HLCM) and working groups.
Monitor, disseminate information and provide advice to UNICEF staff on inter-agency and intergovernmental issues, in particular on UN Coherence.
Monitor and advise NYHQ, ROs and COs on trends and intergovernmental discussions at different UN governance bodies on regional and country specific issues from a UN HQ’s and intergovernmental perspectives to ensure that UNICEF’s action relevant to programme countries is based on correct understanding of these discussions.
Carry out other duties as required.
Advanced university degree in development related fields.
Twelve years of professional work experience in programme/partnerships management and development activities. Strong analytical and writing skills. Proven ability at networking in an intergovernmental environment.
Proven strong leadership and management skills.
Prior UNICEF, or other related, field experience.
Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN language(s) is desirable.
