Job Description:
A team of researchers in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine have been conducting research aimed at improving prevention, care, and treatment of TB, drug-resistant TB and TB/HIV co-infection since 2006. The group’s collaborating partners include Yale University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal, and Philanjalo, a community based organization located in Tugela Ferry, South Africa. The Research Coordinator is responsible for the management of this team’s research program, including supervision and support of 2 Study Coordinators and oversight of financial and administrative transactions. This position is based in Bronx, New York, and reports to two Einstein Principal Investigators. Travel to South Africa is required 2-4 times per year.

Responsiblities
* Supervise 2 Study Coordinators to ensure quality research programming, budget management and IRB approvals, amendments and renewals
* Manage and implement the team’s research agenda and processes
* Provide expertise in study design, analysis and interpretation, the development of user-friendly tools and technical assistance and training
* Forecast, monitor and report on annual budget totaling $1-2 million
* Assist with preparation and writing of grant proposals and manuscripts for publication
* Collaborate with Division Administrative staff to ensure execution of program budgets, subcontracts, consultant contracts and grant proposal submissions
* Interface with research, finance and administrative staff at partner organizations
* Assist with New York and South Africa based HR activities
* Assist with organizational development and operations efforts
* Perform other related duties as assigned by Principal Investigators

Job Requirements

* Masters degree in public health or related field
* 3-5 years of public health research experience is required
* Prior supervisory experience
* Prior experience in budget and grants management
* Project management experience

* Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
