POSITION OVERVIEW:
PCI’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Unit seeks an intern to work on a variety of monitoring and evaluation tasks, including:
Researching appropriate Monitoring and Evaluation methodologies for a variety of programs
Assisting with M&E plans design and documentation
Editing and reviewing M&E reports and manuals
Reviewing program files and entering data related to beneficiaries into an organizational database
Supporting M&E new business development efforts, e.g. developing performance monitoring and evaluation plans (PMEPs), indicator performance tracking tables, etc.
Providing administrative assistance to the M&E unit as needed
Other tasks as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant must be a current student and either able to receive academic credit or able to provide an official letter from the school stating that the internship contributes to intern’s education.
Training and/or experience in monitoring and evaluation
Experience in a professional setting, minimum 1-2 years
Graduate student in international studies of any kind, public health, or related academic study.
Excellent written and verbal skills
Interest in NGOs and international health and development
Computer skills including word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Excel); familiarity with database design and management
Statistical skills using SPSS, STATA, SAS or EpiInfo preferred
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Fluency in English and Spanish required

SCHEDULE:
We are looking for dedicated individuals willing to commit to a 4 month minimum internship of 15 hours per week during business hours. This internship is an unpaid position and located in Washington, DC.
