PSI Research & Metrics (R&M) seeks a Researcher to implement new initiatives, improve quantitative data quality, conduct data analysis, and build capacity of its global team. Preference will be given to candidates with an excellent understanding of quantitative methods and an ability to explain them to technical as well as non-technical audiences. The position is based in Washington, D.C., will require some travel, and reports to the Deputy Director, New Initiatives & Capacity Building.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Launch new marketing research strategies, including measuring a total market approach (TMA), integrating multi-round surveys and mapping studies, testing behavioral models, improving data quality, pricing studies and other experimental designs, and routinely evaluating the impact of PSI’s interventions
•Provide technical support to global R&M team on quantitative research, including study design, data analysis and report writing, population size estimates, and the customization of existing monitoring and evaluation tools
•Assist with the integration of health impact measurement and data collected through multi-round behavioral surveys; develop tools to collect utilization measurements (wastage, adherence, compliance, discontinuation) in multi-round surveys or from other data sources
•Participate in interdisciplinary working groups to develop measurement tools that are responsive to stakeholder needs
•Deliver trainings in PSI’s research methods and competencies
•Create and update R&M training Tool Kits as necessary
•Document lessons learned and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders
•Present at conferences and meetings
•Write working papers and publish in peer-reviewed journals
QUALIFICATIONS:
•PhD or Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience in public health, statistics, economics, population studies, or a related field
•Extensive knowledge of quantitative analysis programs (e.g., SPSS, STATA)
•Ability to develop research training tools and materials for a variety of contexts, learning curves and needs
•Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage own projects
•Highly organized, comfortable working on multiple simultaneous projects; great at meeting deadlines
•Demonstrated ability to communicate with individuals along a variety of learning curves and needs
•Ability to travel up to 30% of the time internationally
•Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills
Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in low and middle income countries, knowledge of public health issues and social marketing products, ability to speak French, Spanish, or Portuguese, and/or familiarity with the international donor development community.
