Purpose of Position:
Strategy development and grantmaking for assigned Project(s) and between the assigned Project(s) and also the broader priorities of PHP and OSF. Work is meted out independently/under general supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Grants
In conjunction with Project supervisor(s) and alternative staff/consultants, develop grantmaking methods, priorities, and guidelines;
Invite grant proposals from selected funding applicants;
Work with candidates to develop and finalize grant proposals;
Review grant proposals and participate within the preparation of written grant recommendations as a part of the docket preparation process;
Perform web site visits of prospective and current grantee organizations;
make sure that grantees submit narrative and monetary reports as needed beneath the terms of the contract;
Monitor grants through review of reports, on-going communication and web site visits.

Program-Related
Develop, arrange and organize program-related workshops, trainings and events;
Work with Supervisor(s) to make sure shut collaboration with alternative comes, convene cross-program collaborations as required to advance strategic grantmaking opportunities;
Write strategy/position papers that offer direction on policy and capacity-building problems impacting the sphere and/or supply suggestions concerning strategic Project development ;
Write and edit Project materials and guidelines;
keep abreast of developments within the field through analysis and attendance at conferences and/or meetings;

Budget

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year school or university and 5 to eight years relevant expertise and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and knowledge.

expertise operating with or in non-governmental organizations;
sturdy background with programs advancing social justice through community organizing, legal advocacy, analysis or policy reform work.
