Responsibilities
Do you want to serve a bigger cause? Are you someone who thrives on diversity and working together with people from all over the world?
The Office of the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Resources Management (OASG/OHRM) of the United Nations in New York is currently looking for a Graphic Designer enrolled in graduate school who is interested in an internship in a very dynamic and international office which is mandated to provide human resources services across the global UN Secretariat.
The UN Secretariat is undergoing a number of HR management reforms. In April 2010, a new external outreach campaign to promote employment at the United Nations was launched through the UN Careers portal (http://careers.un.org). The portal is a centerpiece of a brand developed for Careers at the UN. It communicates the type of talent the Organization is looking for to implement its mandates and it explains what makes the UN an employer of choice. In addition, the UN Careers Portal is based on staff members of the United Nations telling their story and portraying their journey in the UN.
Against this backdrop, you would be part of a team of interns supporting the external communications campaign, more specifically in preparing image profiles using Adobe Photoshop and designing other visual content showcased on the careers.un.org portal.
By preparing photo images, the Graphic Design Intern will play an intricate part in creating the profiles of UN staff members– check out the profiles on the home page of careers.un.org. The intern needs to have excellent knowledge of design applications. Knowledge about the United Nations is a definite asset.
