The incumbent reports to the Chief of Examinations and Tests Section, Strategic Planning and Staffing Division, Office of Human Resources Management, and/or designated professional staff in the Section.
Job Vacancies Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for providing support in the different phases of the National Competitive Examinations , the G to P Examinations, Language Examinations and other examinations administered by the Examinations and Tests Section.
With regard to administrative functions, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing calendars of operations and information for examinations, using relevant computer programmes and databases to input and track data, convoking candidates, tracking pending cases, and preparing and distributing correspondence to supervisors, board members and candidates. The incumbent will also liaise with Permanent Missions to answer any queries and provide any necessary information pertaining to examinations. With regard to research functions, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of materials to facilitate the work of Boards, preparing statistical analysis and briefs on examination results, and conducting analysis for validation exercises.
With regard to monitoring functions, the incumbent will be responsible for interfacing with candidates at various stages of the examinations process, monitoring progress and schedules of Boards, briefing candidates on procedures and dealing with communications from candidates and board members.
The incumbent will be responsible for drafting basic correspondence, preparing drafts of notices, circulars and editing sample materials. The incumbent may be called upon to perform ad hoc assignments such as temporary replacement for GS testing and clerical examinations.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Five years of experience in human resources management , administrative services or related area.

English and French are the working the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Appointment against this post is on a local basis and is open to staff members of the Secretariat appointed at the duty station indicated above, who have already passed the relevant entry-level examination.
Due to the highly confidential nature of the work performed at Examinations and Tests Section and the risk of perceived or real conflict of interest, the incumbent of this post, as well as the incumbents of other General Service posts in ETS are not permitted to take competitive examinations for movement to the Professional category or other examinations under the responsibility of the Examinations and Tests Section for the duration of their work at the Examinations and Tests Section and within the next 6 months following their movement to another office.
