NDI anticipates hiring a private to function Program Officer within the Central and japanese Europe Department. This position is full-time, based mostly at NDI’s workplace in Washington, and temporary till December 2012.
SUMMARY:
Contributes to the look, style and analysis of democratic development comes in collaboration with regional and field employees by performing the duties listed below.
Responsibilities
Develops program ideas for proposals in collaboration with purposeful team; develops program objectives that replicate broader institutional ways and approaches. Leads work arrange discussions; manages method for work arrange drafting and submission.

Drafts board memos, briefing memos, reports and alternative materials with some editing, direction and substance guidance; drafts entire or vital parts of quarterly reports, sections of labor plans and bigger proposals; edits work of Program Assistant and Senior Program Assistant.
Acts as liaison with members of NGO, funding and Washington policymaking communities; formulates funding concepts and pursues funding sources.
Monitors budgets, grants and expenditures massive|for giant|for big}r or complicated programs with multiple field offices and/or reconciliations; creates proposal budgets with supporting notes for large programs; applies allowable prices per restrictions, structures and mechanisms; ensures that they keep among budget limits; anticipates and successfully addresses prices and overages, and implements solutions to budget variances; implements and manages all aspects of subgrants.

Oversees creation and implementation of field workplace policies and handbooks; manages Program and Senior Program Assistants on basic and additional advanced NDI procedures and programmatic tasks; mentors new staff; conducts basic, structured internal trainings.
Maintains collaborative relationships with international democratic development organizations, civic organizations and NDI’s network of volunteer trainers and experts; acts as back-up to team members not gift.
Experience needed
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in mediation or connected subject; graduate degree most well-liked
A minimum of 4 (4) years relevant work expertise in international development, community organizing, political campaigns, organizational development or legislative affairs
Demonstrated data and/or competency in one or additional spaces of NDI’s purposeful programs particularly within the area of legislative affairs and parliamentary development.
Living or operating expertise outside the U.S. preferred
Proven ability to border and communicate on programmatic, budgetary, administrative, political, and donor-related matters. Proven ability to solicit input from multiple sources and synthesize data to gift choices for decision-making in clear ways that.
