Project/Proposal Summary:
The Interactive Multimedia Designer will work closely with the Training Director and other members of the project team to develop and build out learning content with a digital focus. The main purpose of this role is to make good looking, fun to use learning interfaces to support USAID Missions across the globe.
Position Summary:
The Instructional Designer will deliver an eLearning module from approximately July 1 to August 31 (dates to be confirmed).
Responsibilities:
Work with others in the team to support the structuring of curricula and content.
Use well known learning software, such as Adobe Flash, Captivate and Articulate to build out teaching material, with direction.
Assist the development and maintenance of curriculum and course content (including project plans and scope documents) in support of company programs employing various delivery methods including instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, e-learning, self-directed and on-the-job activities
Help manage, interpret and report information collected and make learning solution recommendations based on the information
Apply learning theory to the design of a variety of learning solutions. This includes helping create detailed design documents and/or storyboards, leveraging standard internal product templates, outlining course structure and flow, instructional and assessment strategies and learning objectives
Qualifications:
Required:
Outstanding multimedia & design portfolio ideally from an online learning background
Experience developing graphically appealing presentations and info graphics
Proficient in developing creative and effective learning solutions for a variety of delivery platforms (i.e. instructor-led, synchronous and asynchronous learning)
Proficient in Adobe Suite (Captivate, Dreamweaver, Flash, Action Script 3, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Desired:
Technology o Experience deploying SCORM-compliant eLearning packages on GeoLearning LMS and/or Adobe Connect
Video editing skills o Knowledge of online collaboration technologies such as Adobe Connect or similar platforms
Communication and Collaboration
o Understanding of Federal 508 compliance regulations o A good grasp of international relations and an ability to think globally is essential
o Work effectively with an international team to complete training deliverables
o Classroom teaching experience, with a background in adult & distance learning theory, or psychology a plus
o Experience of collaborating with technical subject matter experts. Not afraid to ask questions
o Exceptional communication skills with emphasis on writing & presentation. Good sense of humor
o Adheres to the ADDIE model
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
2-3 years experience in instructional design; project management skills, knowledge of e-learning and mobile learning design and application.
