Position: Drug Management Specialist

Health programs represent the largest single sector within which IRC currently operates, constituting approximately 45% of the international budget and with activities in 22 countries. Field-based health managers are supported by a headquarters Health Unit comprised of health professionals with many years of experience in humanitarian work. The Health Unit contributes to the effectiveness and comprehensiveness of IRC primary health care programs through technical support, staff development, and institutional learning.

SCOPE OF WORK:
The Drug Management Specialist will work closely with Health Unit colleagues, and with the IRC Procurement and IPD Operations teams to monitor and improve key aspects of drug management within IRC health programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Work with internal and external partners to map out key drug management processes within IRC health programs, and identify priority areas for intervention
* Develop and execute a work plan to monitor and improve priority issues
* Conduct and present the results of research on priority drug management issues, including identifying relevant tools
* Roll out and monitor implementation of selected tools
* Liaise regularly with external partners to develop tools and facilitate implementation.

REQUIREMENTS:
* MPH or similar degree; pharmacy degree a plus
* 3-5 yrs field experience, including experience in drug management
* Able to write and present effectively
* Able to work with remote and multi-disciplinary teams
* Able to transfer technical knowledge and skills
* Available to travel 15-30% of the time
* French language a plus
