The Global Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (MAS) Global Portfolio Unit (CMGPO) is reporting to the Global MAS Industry Director working closely together with the MAS Regional Industry Department Directors. CMGPO is
(i) supervising global MAS portfolio projects and
(ii) providing regular portfolio and operational reporting to MAS Directors and Managers, including the identification of actual portfolio and operational problems, the analysis of global trends and market environment. In fulfilling its tasks CMGPO is closely coordinating its work within MAS (regional portfolio managers, new business managers, equity portfolio management, compliance with corporate standards of portfolio management and supervision) and across various IFC Departments, including Financial Markets, Short-Term Finance, Financial Operations, Central Portfolio, Business Risk, Special Operations, Regional Portfolio Management and Independent Evaluations Group. The Investment Officer is a member of the MAS Global Portfolio Team and reports to the MAS Global Portfolio Manager. The primary purpose of this job will be to independently supervise global portfolio projects, including new products and joint ventures with other departments within IFC, and contribute to the analysis of the MAS Portfolio and Operations.
Job Vacancies Duties and Accountabilities:
- Independently supervise global projects, including joint ventures with other departments within IFC and short-term finance projects;
- Implement supervision of new products and proactively identify and recommend improvements to add value to portfolio procedures and manuals relating to new products. Make sure that changes to supervision processes are implemented as necessary;
- Proactively coordinate supervision of global projects with relevant regional and global departments within IFC and assure timely input of relevant parties;
- Support analysis of MAS portfolio and lead the development of new global portfolio reports; Promote intra-departmental and inter-departmental collaboration as needed. -Contribute to knowledge sharing based on portfolio lessons and support the development and implementation of a portfolio training program;
- Assist development of sector strategies, client strategies and equity strategies as needed;
- Support data integrity and quality for MAS investment portfolio and operations;
- Support economic capital calculation, analysis and tracking. Independently review and analyze departmental productivity and efficiency measures.
- Network on a continuous basis with central functional units of IFC and other departments to support teamwork and innovation in portfolio management and analysis. -Support the continuous MAS business risk analysis process.
Job Vacancies Selection Criteria:
- Advanced degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a corporate setting;
- Strong knowledge of IFC systems and data sources (iDesk, MIS, RMS, SAP, TRS, etc.), or demonstrated ability with comparable systems elsewhere;
- Experience in IFC investment and portfolio management processes; -Strong interest in asset management and portfolio related matters;
- Ability to analyze process requirements and translate them into design specifications for process changes;
- Ability to work well under time and workload pressure with minimal supervision;
- Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment;
- Proactive and self-motivated;
- Strong client focus and excellent team player;
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, to convey supervision and operational issues in a clear and concise way to management and staff; Application Instructions:
