Resource Mobilization
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group, pursues its mission of reducing poverty and improving people s lives by promoting private sector development through investment and advisory services. IFC’s Sustainable Business Advisory (SBA) Business Line works with firms in manufacturing, agribusiness, services, and infrastructure to contribute to the creation of inclusive, environmentally sustainable, and efficient markets in three strategic areas of focus:
(i) engaging the private sector in climate change mitigation and resilience, (ii) scaling business models to extend access to basic infrastructure services, and
(iii) increasing market access for firms in emerging markets. The Business Line s delivery of services is anchored by the Sustainable Business Advisory Department (CSB), which functions as a global service center supporting regionally-based staff in the design and delivery of advisory projects as well as managing some global partnerships and initiatives. Specialists in the Department s Global Products Division are accountable for strategic guidance, quality assurance, knowledge management, resource mobilization and relationship management support for advisory projects in one of seven products in the SBA Business Line:
(i) Resource Efficiency,
(ii) Clean Energy,
(iii) Environmental, Social and Trade Standards,
(iv) SME Capacity Building,
(v) Strategic Community Investment,
(vi) Corporate Governance, and (vii) Sustainable Investing.

Duties and Accountabilities:
The objective of our work in Resource Efficiency is to increase investment flows into resource efficiency – the efficient use of energy, water, materials – by offering relevant business solutions to IFC investee clients and others in key sectors. We are seeking a Global Product Leader for Resource Efficiency to take overall responsibility for oversight and quality control of IFC s advisory work in the product area. Specific duties and accountabilities include:

1. Strategy and Product Leadership
* Lead strategy refinement and development the Resource Efficiency Product over the next 2-3 years, working closely with MAS department and AS staff based in the regions
* Facilitate development of integrated Advisory-Investment services solutions for resource efficiency, working closely with Industry Departments
* Ensure continued refinement and development of a solid measurement and evaluation framework for the product, working with M&E staff

2. Quality Assurance
* Working closely with Regional Business Line Leaders, support IFC regional advisory teams in designing projects and programs that address resource efficiency issues
* In coordination with regional staff, manage development, testing, and roll out of new product features, content, and delivery models
* Ensure the quality of all advisory projects in Resource Efficiency by working closely with regional teams throughout the project cycle: concept clearance, project design, early review, approval, supervision and project closure

3. Knowledge Management
* Lead the knowledge management agenda for Resource Efficiency, taking accountability for gathering, managing and disseminating global best practice and institutional knowledge across IFC and the World Bank Group
* Lead a practice group for Resource Efficiency, leveraging IFC colleagues in industry and specialist departments (e.g. Climate Change Solutions Group and CES), regions and other business lines

4. Resource Management
* Directly supervise a small team of Global Product Specialists as well as coach and mentor the network of staff working on Resource Efficiency across IFC
* Manage the budget for a small number of global projects, including knowledge management
* With the Departmental Leadership, fundraise the Resource Efficiency Product as needed

5. Relationship Management
* Act as CSB s global focal point for Resource Efficiency, advising the Head of Department, Global Product Manager and regional teams
* Represent IFC externally to global industry players, international organizations and donors are relevant on issues relevant to the Resource Efficiency product

Selection Criteria:
* A minimum of eight to ten years of relevant work experience in resource efficiency (depending upon level of position); experience in the private sector is a plus
* Demonstrated technical knowledge of best available practices related to resource efficiency, as well as related economics of solutions
* Master s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, urban/regional/environmental planning, business or public administration or equivalent professional qualification related to resource efficiency
* Demonstrated interest in transferring knowledge and ability to listen and influence others without formal authority and to work across organizational boundaries
* Demonstrated leadership and the interpersonal skills necessary to building effective partnerships within IFC and World Bank Group, as well as in the global market
* Ability to develop innovative solutions and challenge the status quo in order to build the business
* Recognized as a team player, can effectively build consensus, and can collaborate across a multicultural, multinational organization
* Ability to operate effectively in public sector environment
* Project management with proven success in execution is a plus
* Prior experience based in a country office for a private sector company or international organization is preferred  Excellent English written and spoken communication skills are essential, and multiple language skills are highly preferred
* Willingness to travel as and where necessary
