Background / General description

IFC finances private sector investments, including equity investments, mobilizes capital in international financial markets, facilitates trade, helps clients improve social and environmental sustainability, and provides technical assistance and advisory services to businesses and governments. IFC’s Corporate Accounting and Financial Operations (CFA) department plays a significant role in achieving IFC’s mission – deploying the resources of over 100 staff directly, or over 250 directly and indirectly. We provide expertise to clients and broader leadership in the global development community. The CFA Business Partnership unit strives to deliver added value and excellence through strategic and operational business partnership and leading CFA’s efforts to actively contribute to decision making and enhanced business performance. Key focus areas of the Business Partnership unit include financial sustainability, enhanced integrated management reporting and support on efficiency measurements, all which are delivered through close collaboration with IFC’s Budget, Finance and Financial Sustainability Networks. The CFABP unit has recently re-organized with a team now comprising of three members and a need for a finance assistant / analyst to help support the delivery of results through data gathering & analysis, development of outreach/knowledge management efforts and organization of the unit’s data sources. The finance assistant / analyst will report directly to the Head, Business Partnership and be a member of IFC’s Financial Sustainability Network.

Duties and Accountabilities
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work across functions, gain broad understanding of IFC wide operational and financial results while developing partnership skills. More specific tasks will include:
Collate inputs to the Integrated Quarterly Management Report
Sampling for testing portfolio efficiency assumptions and conduct statistical analysis
Assist the team in testing CFA sponsored system enhancements reflective of changing business requirements
Provide inputs to team’s corporate reports and analyses
Collaborate in the preparation of team’s presentations and training
Gather and organize data, files and presentations
Maintain the group’s knowledge platforms, including intranet and iCollaborate pages
Take/circulate minutes from network meetings
Support learning events
Contribute to CFA’s RoadMap of initiatives as applicable

Selection Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration; Master’s degree a plus
At least 2 years proven background and experience in accounting, financial reporting and/or management information systems (MIS)
Technically sound with proficiency in analytical tools and MS applications; knowledge of SAP preferred, and financial modeling experience a plus
Relevant certifications, such as CPA, CFA, or FRM a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Team player with strong interpersonal and problem solving skills able to work with staff of different levels
Excellent organizational, administrative, multi-tasking and time management skills, with proven ability to work promptly and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Innovative, pragmatic and quick learner
Proactive and self-motivated
