Job Vacancies Background:
The Financial Markets Division of the Structured and Corporate Finance Department (SCF) is currently searching for a Candidate to be hired as a Consultant in Washington, D.C. This consultancy aims to support a program that seeks to incorporate smaller financial institutions into the Trade Finance Facilitation program (“TFFP” or the “Program”).

Job Vacancies Objective:
To screen and analyze smaller financial institutions to become TFFP Issuing Banks (“IB’s”) and to help build and improve capacity of selected smaller Issuing Banks to develop a sound international trade finance business.

Job Vacancies Main Activities:
Conduct thorough integrity check
Conduct on- and off-site due diligence and credit analysis
Prepare TFFP IB guarantee line requests for selected financial institutions ;
Seek approval for the TFFP IB guarantee lines in relevant IDB committees, while participating in coordinating discussions with other relevant parties prior to formal request for approval;
Advise IB staff on how to comply with all reporting requirements and covenants of the TFFP Issuing Bank Agreement, to help the IB become and remain a TFFP Issuing Bank, and to generally improve the IB’s financial information collection and reporting capacity
Highlight to IB staff importance of, and preliminarily explore specific opportunities of supporting, through the TFFP, transactions involving MSMEs and/or other clients with significant local employment and poverty-reducing impact; coach IB staff on reporting these transactions to IDB
Ensure the timely renewal of assigned TFFP IB guarantee lines.
Coordinate assistance for IB’s and potential IB’s in the development of a sound International Trade Finance operation.
Prepare all necessary reports, and perform other tasks as may be required from time to time.

Job Vacancies Responsible Officer and Unit:
Daniela Carrera Marquis, Division Chief, SCF/FMK
- Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Int. Business, Banking or related field
- At least 2 years of professional relevant experience in financial markets, preferably in Latin America and the Caribbean
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish, Portuguese would be a plus
Individuals with relatives working for the IDB within and including the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of affinity are not eligible.
This includes staff members and consultants. Candidates must be citizens of a member country of the Inter-American Development Bank.
