Job Vacancies  Java Developer – Trading Systems – Chicago

You will work in a global technology team of a proprietary trading firm responsible for Client Connectivity, Direct Market Access and Options Trading System. You will work with cutting edge technology and the development of real time, speed intensive Trading Systems. You will be responsible for system design, application design and software programming and will have excellent skills in core JAVA development in order to be involved in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

The ideal candidate will have 2 – 6 years of programming experience in JAVA with proficiency in Object Oriented Design and Analysis. Technical expertise with Javascript, software prototyping, VBA, .NET, Excel, SQL, MS Access, MySQL, WinSock, Bash, Perl, scripting are all major advantages for this position. A strong academic background is required with at least a Bachelor’s in Computer Science with a GPA of 3.0+. Exposure to multi-threaded and distributed real time application development is a requirement. Experience working within the finance industry is not mandatory, but it is a major advantage, especially business knowledge of derivatives. Excellent communications skills are a must, as you will be sitting in the front office and liasing with all levels of management, traders and quants.
