Job Vacancies Org. Setting and Reporting
The position is located in the Information Management Unit (lMU), Quality Assurance and Information Management Section, FPSSS/FPD/DFS . The incumbent will directly report to the Chief, Information Management Unit (lMU).

Job Vacancies Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistical data used in human resource management in UN peace operations. These statistics will be used by senior managers of the Field Personnel Division (FPD), and as required by other clients, including DFS senior management, OHRM, legislative bodies and external clients.
Organizes, designs, plans and carries out the collection, evaluation, analysis, compilation and dissemination of statistical data by selecting methods of data collection, selecting and implementing methods for checking collected data, and selecting and implementing appropriate methods for data processing for incorporation into databases;
Participates in the development, implementation and management of statistical data base(s);
Participates in small projects for enhancements to existing human resource management reporting systems;
Maintains statistical standards related to human resource management;
Participates in the development or revision of standards on statistical concepts, definitions and classifications by performing methodological research;
Designs business intelligence and reporting solutions for strategic planning and performance evaluation, and for operational monitoring by developing statistical models for strategic and operational business intelligence solutions, including multi-variate forecasting and solutions analysis;
Assists management in applying suitable statistical definitions and methodologies; proposing alternative methods by which information can be processed more efficiently, effectively, reliably, and responsibly;
Provides training and technical support on data collection programmes, country practices and other related information;
Supports end-users of human resource management system reporting tools in DFS management, FPD, and the field;
Organizes and participates in seminars, working groups and expert meetings as a technical resource person;
Guides trains and supervises general service staff ;
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Vacancies Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in statistics, mathematics, economics, sociology or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Job Vacancies Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistical data .
Experience in designing statistical models is highly desirable.

Job Vacancies Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
