SUMMARY:
The Partnership Director has the responsibility for maintaining and developing relationships with international partner organizations that receive donations of medicines and medical supplies from AmeriCares. The Director ensures that AmeriCares standards are being met by clearly communicating expectations, conducting regular monitoring, and managing the relationship to motivate high partner performance. The Director also ensures that AmeriCares is supporting its partners in the most effective, efficient, and appropriate manner, given its resources. The Director oversees contact with partner organizations and is the organizational focal point for disseminating information about AmeriCares specific partnership activities to key internal constituents, including Resource Integration and Operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partnership Management, Monitoring and Oversight:
* As AmeriCares primary point of contact, develop and maintain a shared understanding of partnership expectations with each partner, including nature and volume of product donations, impact on partner organization of product donations, AmeriCares policies and standards, partner capabilities and other resources available to the partner.
* Collect and maintain information required for AmeriCares to manage medical donation partnership, including logistics/import requirements, inventory control capabilities/constraints, partner/sub-recipient healthcare capability, patient population and formulary through:

Collection and analysis of regular partner reporting;
Regular partner communications;

Targeted partner research/assessment, with support from AmeriCares Medical Director and/or Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting (i.e. Core Meds Assessment);

Work with partnerships to optimize logistics arrangements to ensure safe and efficient delivery of medical assistance;

In person site visits, including annual partnership review of impact and compliance.
* Work with partner to prioritize opportunities and identify constraints for AmeriCares product donations (i.e., most needed products vs. inappropriate products), informed by Resource Integration about nature and volume of AmeriCares inventory/supply
* In collaboration with partners, develop partnership plans to increase AmeriCares impact (e.g., adjusting frequency/timing of AmeriCares shipments, increasing partner capability, focusing AmeriCares product donations on specific categories, identifying opportunities for potential Product Donation Receipt submissions and/or donor initiatives)
* Develop and maintain local relationships with key influencers, i.e. Ministry of Health and other government agencies as well as local NGO networks, to improve the effectiveness of AmeriCares donation work, remove obstacles, trouble shoot, and explore new opportunities.
* Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of local and national health issues through independent research as well as dialogue with partner in order to inform partner activity as well as decisions regarding areas of growth.
* Collaborate with other departments within AmeriCares to ensure effectiveness of our support to the partnership and AmeriCares ability to deliver the highest quality service and advocate for the partner:

Work with Emergency Response to aid partners in disaster relief operations on an as-needed basis;

Coordinate with Resource Integration group when special requests arise from Partners in the field for materials;

Maintain an ongoing dialogue with Resource Integration teams and provide regular updates/reports of partner needs to facilitate shipment building;
* Collaborate with Global Programs leadership across departments to increase program effectiveness, allocate scarce resources, and develop program strategy.

Proactively Contribute to AmeriCares Resource Acquisition Efforts:
* Obtaining quantitative and qualitative reporting from partners on AmeriCares product donations (e.g., partner stories/testimonials, patient care and pharmacy photos, distribution reports) to support internal/external communications efforts as well as proposal writing.

New Partnership Development/Strategic Planning:
* Prepare Country/Regional strategies for Partnership management and expansion taking into consideration AmeriCares existing resources and requirements for further growth.

Country Plans should outline AmeriCares yearly partner activities including shipping schedules/special initiatives as well as highlight potential areas for targeted program activities such as partner capacity building or disease specific support potential. Additionally, country plans should include proposals for areas which could be targeted for greater expansion either via existing partnership or through the development of new partnerships;

Regional Plans should examine AmeriCares overall activities in the region and assess the need based on a combination of health and regulatory indicators to determine new countries for AmeriCares involvement in the region as well as the availability of AmeriCares resources.
* Regularly assess areas for expansion including the need/potential to develop new partnerships in order to serve communities in need.
* Developing new partnerships following AmeriCares approval process thereby advocating on behalf of a new partner. This should include creating a pilot implementation plan to guide the development of a new partnership , ensuring adherence to AmeriCares standards, matching their needs, defining a mutually agreed upon trial period, and sponsoring the partner through the approval process.

Management:
* Provide leadership, day-to-day management, vision and inspiration to Associate level departmental staff, creating team collaboration and cohesiveness

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master’s degree with at least 5 years of related work experience or equivalent job experience:
Global health, medical relief, international aid, healthcare, and/or pharmaceutical,

Program management/administration or operations management,
Diversity of experience in different organizational capacities and culture contexts
* In-depth cultural/regional knowledge of Asia and/or Eurasia, either native or experience abroad
* Successful staff management & development experience with the ability to successfully motivate a team to accomplish the goals of the department and organization
* Strong track record of fact-based, proactive problem solving incorporating both demand and supply issues
* Strong organization skills; attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communications skills; curiosity to understand partners’ interests, commitment , energy to advocate for partner with internal and external constituents
* Team orientation; balanced focus on personal accountability and team goals
* 15% – 20% travel required
* Russian language (speaking/reading/writing skills) a plus
* Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
